An image can change its perspective by being cropped or having the focus placed somewhere else. These photos were taken in the Pacific Northwest. There are multiple subjects and looking at these photos, I've noticed I like to put the focus on the left side of the photo.

The Meanings of Colors
Color Symbolism Theories
Color conveys meaning by natural or psychological (cultural) associations. Natural associations are universal while psychological (cultural) associations differ. For example, the color blue is associated with nature as the sky and water. Blue can be psychologically associated with being calm or sad.
Color Impact
Blue has always been a favorite color of mine, whether it be navy, sky, or electric blue. Growing up near the Puget Sound allowed me to see the water daily and even though it wasn't like the clear waters of the Pacific Islands, it was a deep blue with depth. The different shades of blue remind me of the various times in my childhood of changes and how sometimes life was calm and other times there were storms, but no matter what was happening, I liked the color blue.
- Yellow tends to capture our attention the most out of all the colors. Yellow is known for happiness and optimism, as well as caution.
- Blue is the favorite color of the majority of people. Blue is calming and soothing and different shades have different meanings. Blue is often found in nature.
- Green is known not only as a color but as a verb. Green equates growth and is associated with luck. Green also is known for envy and being sickly.

Movie Trailer Color Symbolism
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Green: Nature, Luck
Yellow: Optimism, Happiness
Blue: Loyalty, Sadness
The Shire is green and full of life. Nature plays a big part in The Hobbit, therefore there is a lot of green. This also can attribute to the luck of the company on the adventure and the growth of the characters. Bilbo Baggins wears a yellow vest to symbolize his happy and content outlook on life. He then has a maroon jacket that indicates he is become sure of himself. There is a blue tone to a few scenes, which makes it a sad or depressing mood, however, there is blue to show loyalty and peace. There are a lot of dark colors to show sadness and depression in this movie but they are contrasted against the beautiful landscape colors and optimism of other characters. There wouldn't be more suitable colors for the characters of this movie since it boils down to good versus evil, light versus dark. Bilbo is the optimistic yellow to get people to continue on the journey. I am more aware of the colors and what they can represent. Now I look around at advertisements and movies to see what colors are being used and what type of emotion advertisers are trying to evoke.
